Leadership: Building Connections Across Israeli Society
GAR'INEI UDI
- Shared Values & Dialogue
- Community Social Action
Technical capability without values and community responsibility is incomplete. At BU, technology education and social leadership go hand-in-hand. Through programs like Gar’inei Udi and Mechinot Udi (developed in collaboration with ORT Israel), we bring together youth from diverse social and geographic backgrounds to build a stronger, more unified future.
Leadership Rooted in Legacy
The ethos of BU traces back to the memory of Lt. Udi Elgrably z”l, who fell in Lebanon in 1994. Udi’s passion for mentoring youth, taking responsibility, and bringing people together sits at the heart of our leadership frameworks. Our leadership programs challenge students to: Engage in Open Dialogue: Step outside their comfort zones to engage meaningfully with peers from different backgrounds across Israeli society. Drive Local Social Action: Identify social challenges in their own municipalities and execute community-based solutions. Lead with Empathy: Learn that true leadership is defined by service, mutual accountability, and integrity. > "Technical skill opens doors, but social responsibility determines > how far you walk through them and who you bring with you."
Strengthening the National Fabric
By fostering shared experiences among youth from different sectors, BU actively builds bridges across geographic and social divides. Our graduates emerge not only as skilled technology professionals, but as values-driven citizens committed to the long-term resilience of Israeli society.
